Dr. Fiske is the founder and director of North Star Family and Child Psychology, and is a licensed psychologist and board certified behavior analyst. She works closely with families to support children, adolescents, and young adults with neurodevelopmental, behavioral, and emotional needs. Using behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Dr. Fiske addresses concerns related to autism and neurodevelopmental disorders, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral challenges.
A central focus of Dr. Fiske’s work is partnering with parents and caregivers to better understand their child’s unique strengths and needs as well as the support needs of the entire family. Dr. Fiske’s clinical interests extend to providing therapeutic support to parents of neurodivergent children. Dr. Fiske also specializes in the diagnosis of autism in children, adolescents, and adults.
Dr. Fiske has over 25 years of experience in the field of psychology. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology at Rutgers University and completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Fiske served as a clinical professor at Rutgers University-New Brunswick for 12 years, where she engaged in research, clinical practice, and mentorship. Dr. Fiske has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and is the author of the book, Autism and the Family: Understanding and Supporting Parents and Siblings.

Dr. Hawkins is a licensed psychologist who specializes in supporting children, adolescents, and young adults with emotional, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental needs. As a certified school psychologist and board certified behavior analyst, she brings a comprehensive perspective to care. Additionally, Dr. Hawkins works with parents and caregivers to reduce parenting stress and improve parent-child relationships. She uses a flexible, evidence-based approach, combining cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and behavior therapy to create personalized treatment plans. Her areas of focus include autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and behavioral concerns.
Dr. Hawkins’s work emphasizes honoring individual goals and interests, improving relationships between family members, and learning to manage the unique needs inherent in neurodiverse individuals. Her clinical interests include increasing independence in teens and young adults and providing support to parents and caregivers of neurodiverse individuals.
Dr. Hawkins has over 10 years of experience in the field of psychology. She completed her doctoral training at Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology and her pre-doctoral internship at Rutgers’ Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center (DDDC) where she provided consultation and training to New Jersey public school teachers and staff on supporting students with autism and other disabilities. While serving as a Postdoctoral Fellow at NSFAC, Dr. Hawkins gained experience in supporting autistic teens, young adults, and their families through the transition to adulthood. She is passionate about meeting clients with openness, warmth, and humor!

Jason Neely, PhD, LMFT

Dr. Jason Neely is a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 20 years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families. He has served folks ranging in age from adolescence through adulthood and end-of-life issues. At the heart of Dr. Neely’s clinical approach to therapy is the family system. That is, he focuses on the connections between people. He works to build a positive therapeutic relationship with clients to achieve the satisfaction they seek.
Dr. Neely earned his master’s in marriage and family therapy from Syracuse University, and his Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the University of Florida. He has particular interests in the potential for couples therapy to reduce stress and conflict with parents that have a child with autism, and the positive effect it can have on their child’s individual progress in treatment. Currently, he is teaching two master’s level courses at Rutgers University: Foundations in Psychotherapy Theories and an Introduction to Family Therapy.
